Meals to Remain Free For ConVal Students During Coming School Year

Superintendent Kimberly Rizzo Saunders is pleased to announce that the United States Department of Agriculture will continue to offer free breakfasts and lunches to all ConVal students through the end of the 2021-22 school year.

“We are so happy to be able to offer this resource to all of our students for another year,” said Superintendent Rizzo Saunders. “Even though meals will be available to students regardless of qualification status, I cannot stress enough how important it is for parents to fill out an application. Doing so allows families to determine if they are eligible for a number of other significant benefits.”

Families that complete an application will have the opportunity to learn about their potential eligibility for other benefits, including discounted or waived academic testing and college application fees, reduced-cost broadband internet access, and the pandemic EBT program.

Data from the program is also used to determine the amount of funding that is provided to the district for programs, such as Title I and e-rate reimbursement, which is used to fund technology. Additionally, the data is used by other federal and private grant foundations to award funding to the district, as well as towns within the district.

Families can apply here. Only one application should be completed per household.
