ConVal School District Encourages Community to Participate in Strategic Planning Process

Strategic plans act as a roadmap for the district to follow over a five year period, highlighting specific projects and goals for long-term sustainable growth. The most recent strategic plan was created in 2016 and lasted through June 2021.

Superintendent Kimberly Rizzo Saunders wishes to provide an update on ConVal School District’s strategic planning process and encourage community members to participate.

“It is our hope to have the development of the strategic plan be a community-wide effort,” Superintendent Rizzo Saunders said. “We want to hear from families, students, staff and the residents of the nine towns that make up the ConVal community throughout this process. That way, the district may determine strategies that will be most impactful and most aligned with community priorities.”

Community members are asked to take a preliminary two-question survey here so that the district can better understand ways that stakeholders wish to participate in the process. A more comprehensive survey will be issued in the coming weeks to gather input about long-term strategies and goals.

Along with the survey, the district will gather feedback through focus groups. Community members also will have the opportunity to attend town hall-style meetings. Meeting dates and times will be announced when available.

A draft of the strategic plan is expected to be completed by June 2022. The plan is subject to approval by the School Board before it can be implemented.

More information about the strategic planning process can be found on the district’s website here.
