Remote Learning and Food Services

March 18, 2020; updated March 26, April 3

I want to remind you that the district will deliver lunch and breakfast to your home Monday – Friday! Please complete this survey if you want to sign up. Only complete the survey if you want to be added or you need to add additional children.

We are providing meals to about 560 students right now. In order to do this we have some guidelines:

  • You will receive breakfast and lunch. Beginning next week, they will be in a single bag. This means 1 bag per child per day.
  • There is no contact with the drivers.
  • There is a single drop off point for multi-family buildings. Please be mindful that there may be other participants in the building and only take your share.

The delivery list is updated daily, but we have found that we often need a two-day lead time. This means that if I receive your survey by noon on Monday, your meal delivery will begin on Wednesday. In order to receive delivery on Monday, I will need to receive your survey no later than noon on Friday.

The delivery time frame for each community is as follows:

If you have been laid off, please consider applying for free or reduced meal assistance. The application can be filled out online by accessing lunchapplication.com and printout forms for the application can be found here.

In addition to your benefit, it helps the school district by increasing the funding we can receive for not only food service but Title I services and rebates on certain technology needs. If you applied earlier this year and didn’t qualify, you can re-apply if your circumstances have changed.

Additionally, if you would like to participate in End 68 Hours, which will provide food for the weekend for each school-aged child in your household, contact lcarac@yahoo.com and put “Conval End 68” in the subject line. If a staff member is reaching out to assist with this connection, please use the same process.

The delivered food can be used for two breakfasts, two lunches, and three dinners. The End 68 Hours of Hunger will be delivering two weekends worth of food every other week. Please click here to provide the information needed for delivery.

If families would also like access to the SMS Food Pantry, please reach out to Judy Hertzler at jhertzler@conval.edu and put “SMS Food Pantry” in the subject line. Judy can also receive text messages at (603) 582-0986.

Please send all additional questions or concerns directly to me at lschmidt@conval.edu.

Thank you,
