Community Message From The Superintendent

March 12, 2020

Good Evening,

I want to begin by thanking the District for your continued support of our students, staff, and schools by passing the 2020-2021 District budget. I appreciated hearing from the many parents and community members who reached out today to share thoughts about the budget process and its positive outcome.

Some parents have also reached out to share their concerns about the evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and have asked if the District has additional information to share. Administrators and staff continue to plan for the unlikely case that we have to close schools. This work has included: surveying students and parents about Internet access and making sure that older students can access logins for online learning and instructional programs. We are also creating communications about student and staff expectations should we have to implement remote learning opportunities.

At this time, there has been no indication of exposure in our District schools or communities.  We continue to be in contact with local and state health officials to ensure that we have up-to-date information in order to make informed decisions.

We recognize that this is an unprecedented situation for all of us. Please be assured that we are committed to the health and safety of your students, our staff, and our community.  I share your concerns on both a personal and professional level.

We will continue to update our website with information at https://convalsd.net/covid-19-coronavirus-information/.  In addition, I will continue to communicate directly with you as the need arises. As always, do not hesitate to reach out to me, and I will do my best to be timely in my response.

Best,

Kimberly
